Automatic Palletizing of Plate Freezing Blocks

After the freezing process, the frozen blocks are removed from the freezers, employing methods ranging from manual to fully automatic. Subsequently, all steps, from cutting and packaging to metal detection, layer formation, and palletizing, can be fully automated.

Efficient Sawing

Large blocks are effortlessly placed from the plate freezer onto a block table, ready to be cut to the desired size. Subsequently, the blocks are chunked and directed to the robotic line for further processing. By cutting the blocks into two or three parts, we eliminate the need for dividers, resulting in a more efficient process with fewer steps.

    Horizontal flow packer

After cutting, blocks can be individually wrapped using a horizontal flow packer. The blocks are fed into the machine from the back and guided through the film curtain, where they are then wrapped by the machine. After passing the sealing bar, the block is further transported to the side sealing bars, where the side seal is made. This fully encloses the block with film. This Horizontal Flow Packer offers a fully automated packaging process directly from the film roll, ensuring efficiency and consistency.

    Efficient Palletizing

The frozen blocks are formed on the conveyor belt after metal detection for the palletizing robot, which, depending on the speed, places either individual blocks or entire layers onto the pallet. Thanks to its high hygiene level, the palletizing robot can handle both packaged and unpackaged products, offering great flexibility by palletizing different products with the same robot.

In the palletizing process, the foil unit and foam unit can be added to enhance product quality. The sheet dispenser dispenses the foil or foam to the robot, which then pulls the sheet over the pallet to the desired layer. This creates a stable end pallet, even with unstable products. The foam unit automatically places a base sheet on top of the pallet for grip, stability, and product protection.

    Stable end pallet

After the pallet is fully stacked, several steps follow to prepare it for transport. Strapping, weighing, and labeling of the pallet can be fully automated, ensuring stable palletization and reduced labor costs. Strapping ensures maximum stability and can be done both lengthwise and widthwise. Subsequently, the pallet is weighed, and finally, it is labeled for complete traceability, with integration options for our ERP software Twaka.
